What is up, everybody, Josh Tapp here again. And welcome back to the lucky Titan podcast. And today we're here with Manuel Suarez, super excited to have him here. I mean, this guy has done some amazing things in his career, you know, from scaling a business to $40 million, scaling multiple businesses past the seven and eight figure mark, this guy really knows what he's doing when it comes to attracting attention and selling the correct products to the correct people. So you know, Manuel's won awards, like the two comma club award, the million dollar merchant award from Shopify, very highly recognized. And so this is going to be a really fun interview, because we're going to be talking about attracting the right people and attracting attention. So men will say, what's up to everybody, and we'll hop in.

Manuel: (0:42)

Thanks. Thanks for having me here, Josh. Really appreciate it. Hi, everybody, excited about providing a ton of value to you guys today.

Josh: (0:49)

It's gonna be fantastic. So men will give us a little bit of insight into attracting attention and what that actually means in today's space.

Manuel: (1:00)

You know, I actually, my journey in 2014, after many years of failures, and meltdowns, and I was a part of the subprime mortgage market, I think I was the last person to ever buy a property in 2008. And I had to rebuild myself, and figure out how to get myself out of a out of a tough spot right now with children. And I had a lot of difficulty finding things that I would actually thrive on and be good at. failing at school, not doing any college not going for the system, not going any not doing any of the traditional routes. not supposed to be a success. So I actually started my journey with how do I get out of this situation? What opportunities do we have right now. And the word attention started coming into into my mind a lot. And it became quite obvious, Josh that, if you could, if you could tap no pun intended with your last name, Josh, but if you could tap into the attention that was out there being presented to us by the world, man, there was so much potential, I started looking around 2011 started looking around, and I saw people when they were a dinner, and parties and and activities and the freakin bathroom and their bedroom and bed, wherever they were paying attention to this thing that we call a cell phone. And that trend was actually rolling aggressively. So I sort of thinking about how do I get a little piece of that pie, and it became an obsession of mine to capture attention, because it all made sense. I said, Wait a second. So this whole evolution in the internet that's happening right now, it's almost like going back to the Wild West, the Cowboys fighting over territories and lands and land in their flag. I just, it just became obvious. We just got to find out how do we capture a little bit of that digital land. And it was all about attention. My company, Josh is called AGM. And it was formed from that realization that we needed to capture attention. AGM stands for Attention Grabbing Media. So since 2011, I have been obsessed with the subject of attention, because I know that if you have it, you thrive. If you don't have it used to come as simple as that. It determines your path towards expansion, or determines your failures. It's as simple as that it is the biggest thing that stands above everything else. And we have opportunities today that allow us to capture a lot of them. In my case, I I wrote the social media wave, I jumped on top of this Facebook app, and this Facebook trend. And I call myself the Facebook ninja. I actually have a podcast Josh called the Facebook marketing ninja since then I've had since 2008. And it's because I saw this platform, and I saw the opportunity and I said you know what, we need to dive into it. Because it's such an opportunity in this platform to capture attention for people like you like me business a little bit more attention towards our business. And I think if you're listening to this podcast, you probably could do better if you had more attention. And that's an inevitable part of the world that we live in on today.

Josh: (4:36)

Yeah, I completely agree. And you know, man, well, I think one of the primary questions that most people have is where should they be getting that attention? I mean, obviously, you know, this is changing as dependent but I kind of want to hear your take on on where people should be trying to attract attention.

Manuel: (4:53)

You know, the other day I did a survey. Josh in my audience. I know the answer that was going to come out as a winner. But I was trying to find out what people wanted to learn more about. And I, I emailed my list of 25,000 people, and I was trying to get what their mindset was on this subject Exactly. Which is where should they be? Where should you pay attention? What platform Do you need to be a part of? And what do you need to learn more about and still 80% of people 80% of our entire audience, they really wanted to understand more about Facebook and Instagram advertising. And I can tell you that still today about to be done with the year 2020, moving into this new 2020 environment in the middle of COVID-19. And this incredible pandemic that has penetrated the world at levels that nobody even had nightmares about. In the past, it still becomes the platform that you need to penetrate. Sure, there are other opportunities arising and they're doing really well. Tick Tock is an opportunity, there's…

Manuel: (6:07)

got to find out what works for your business. But regardless of that, regardless of that, you need to make sure that you are doing everything that you can to get on top of the platforms that are capturing the most attention and that have the possibility of bringing your business more survival. There is a roadmap. I do want to obviously talk about that, Josh, because a lot of the people that actually fail in the World of Internet Marketing, digital marketing on social media, they generally fail because they they actually have the wrong plan the wrong strategy. And that needs to be corrected from the top. If you look at what I've done successfully over the last eight years or so, building my diet into a superstar that generates 25 million views every month, building people like the keto diet, King, Dr. Eric Berg to millions of views and $60 million in revenue a year helping celebrities and superpowers and being able to work with people like daymond, john, all these guys have common denominator, which they have the right strategy in place, everybody has that right strategy. And they approach the world of the internet, whether that's Facebook advertising, Instagram, advertising, Facebook, messenger marketing, doing your own content on YouTube, whatever the case may be, they approach it with one particular strategy in mind, which is starting with capturing that attention. And the way you capture it has to be through providing your superpower to the world, giving people your value, how can you actually help them improve an area of their lives? How can you make people better with your information that you take for granted every single day, but other people out there will benefit from that. And that has to be the area that you focus on? If you're going to be successful in this environment?

Josh: (8:04)

Yeah, 100% I completely agree with that. Because it's so interesting that that, you know, people will come into this world, and they just kind of dabble, right. They're dabbling in lots of different places. But, you know, from from my, from what I've seen, you can contradict this or whatever. But I'm curious to see your opinion on it. Because most people will try to go and hit every platform at the same time. And that's really, really hard, in my opinion, to dominate that, especially if you're a solopreneur, or you have a very small budget. So I mean, do you recommend going wider? Do you recommend going deep?

Manuel: (8:40)

to question Josh, I recommend going everywhere. But you have to have a strategy in place. And my biggest advice that wants to be serious about this, and get going is that the first few months of starting on that process, you gotta you got to realize that it's going to be a negative return on investment guaranteed, because you're trying to position yourself and you're trying to get certainty about your own ability to communicate, and you're trying to get this content rolling and start getting people to pay attention. And a lot of people they fail in the patience game, they, they consistently, they try to get direct response sales, they try to get people to see their ads on Facebook or on Instagram or on YouTube on Google whatever. And they don't travel a journey. They don't make people go for a journey. They simply just blast their offers and it doesn't work. And the first month they do this and then they look at their numbers and they say we invested $5,000 in advertising and we got $500 back, we're gonna go broke. We keep on going like this. So I'm gonna call it quits before I lose it all in that strategy was wrong from the beginning. So it depends. On how good you are in your ability to communicate. But the the journey, Josh begins with, what is that thing that you can do to help other people and then doing videos, writing articles, infographics, doing podcasts like you and myself, we do all the time. And just providing that value to people without expecting anything in return. You'll be surprised how if you do this consistently, if you do this enough, for a long enough time, people aren't going to come back to you and take you up on your offers and services and products or whatever it is that you have, because they feel like indebted. You're trying to make people accountable. You're trying to make people feel like they owe you. And that's a roadmap. Now, it depends on you to go back to your question, Josh, it really does depend on on, if you have a team, or if you're running this by yourself, in a team, I don't do the posting myself on these platforms, I have a team that handles my brand. But you will see me on Facebook, on Instagram, on YouTube, on a Twitter on Facebook Messenger, you will see me on all these places, the only one that I haven't gone really deep on is on Tick Tock. But generally, I just go to all of them. And I can tell you that where I spend about 90% of my advertising budget is on Facebook and Instagram. But I don't waste the opportunity that I have been given to put my content out on these other platforms because it's free. So if I can just go ahead and put a video out there on YouTube, that's going to give me a problem possibility of eventually having somebody see that content. And like my content and for the next level of engagement with me. Why am I not doing that? If I'm already posting a video on Facebook, Josh, and I posted on my Facebook page, it is about to take that same video and put a subject, put a title, put a description out a couple of texts and publish it on the YouTube channel. There's little things that are like the technicalities and the logistics, like adding a nail and adding capture etc. But generally, if you're already posting the content somewhere, it's very easy to put the content everywhere else. But when it comes to finding new audiences, I still today, I'm 100% convinced and I see it every day because we spend millions of dollars in advertising every month. So I see all this data, that there is no best platform, there is no better platform than Facebook and Instagram to help you find top of the funnel audience that are going to like your content, the targeting of Facebook are still like no other platform. And because of that you want to invest a big portion of your advertising budget and these platforms. And the way starts Josh is by you put that video out there, which could be like educational a five step process a..

Manuel: (13:08)

bedroom together a mini course that you're giving them that you want to give them some educate some kind of like powerful data that's going to make them better. Again, like I said, it's a guaranteed negative return on investment. Because you're going to invest advertising dollars to find an audience that might be interested in what your products and services are that might take that free information. Because what happens is something that not everybody knows, especially people that are not marketers, that you start utilizing that particular audience right there to continue a journey with that person. If Josh, if you're open opening on Facebook or Instagram, and I have a video that talks about how to generate 220,000 new subscribers in a matter of six weeks without any paid advertising. Would you be interested in that content? Josh? Question?

Josh: (14:04)

Yeah, Absolutely.

Manuel: (14:07)

You, you probably would like to have that data. So if you're seeing that, that promotional piece, and I put it in front of you, then I get a chance to build that relationship with you and I and you get to pay attention because you do want to get that and and hate it is cliche, but knowledge is power. And that's the most truest cliche in this universe. If you have information, you can win the game of business. With a person you don't win, that's why you guys, you're listening to this podcast, you have a higher probability of winning because you're getting yourself educated, you're getting information, you're getting knowledge, the reason why you succeed in life is because you have more information than your competitor, generally, in combination with the ability to apply that knowledge and see some results. So if I get to put that information in front of you, Josh, and you get to see it and you're like, Whoa, this is good. I implement that. Well, I Did a messenger bot and I did this and I did a contest, and I was able to generate a lot of subscribers, I immediately get credibility with you. So the next time that I present an information in front of you, or I talk to you about a product or service, you're going to pay attention, because that first thing that I put in front of you, did help you get results. So you're really helping people as a first step on that journey. And by doing so, you're earning yourself, sell them something along the way. So Facebook me down the funnel journey ended applies to any business model, whether you have an info product, or you're selling actual physical products, or you have a service or a software, no matter what the case may be. You're trying to position yourself as an authority on a subject. So you can get them to pay attention when you have another offer along the line. If you don't have a like this, you're just another one in a crowd. And there's nothing that makes us special. And it's all about getting lucky. I can tell you, Josh.

Manuel: (16:08)

Pockets is that you just have to get these podcasts a guest to talk about, you know, what would you do if you were starting all over? Right? If you had to start from scratch? Well, I have an agency, I have been lucky, I have been successful. I have 75 staff, and I'm growing every day, and I have partnerships with incredible people. And I've been able to help a lot of people and celebrities and all these people. And we make a lot of money. And we're really successful. The reason why I got to this point today is because this roadmap that I've been telling you guys about for the last 15 minutes or so it's exactly the roadmap that I've traveled myself, I did a lot of value, I produce a lot of content, I got my stuff in front of people, I dedicated myself to helping others by doing so I have gotten more clients than the ones that I can service roadmap. For any of you guys, you would start all over if I were to start all over today. Building an agency marketing agency, probably as the single greatest opportunity today. Why? Because there's been a massive acceleration of the internet across the board, massive, the internet was already moving fast, it was already accelerated on steroids. Right now, because of COVID-19. It has fast forwarded easily five, six years. And now we are gone into a massive, massive hyperdrive with the internet, e commerce, services, everything that's going on the internet. So which is incredible. But at the same time, we have an incredible amount of ignorance in how the internet works, how the social media marketing works, how do these platforms work? And how can you get the most out of these platforms. Because of that, big The opportunity is for somebody that is a good marketer smart, they can figure out how these platforms work, because your knowledge as a marketer become as valuable as a surgeon or a doctor super educated. Why because you can save a business with your information. And if you say the business, you don't only say one person, you save a group of people, and you save an entire family 4000 businesses closing every day in United States during the COVID emic. If you can save 20% of those, do you know how many people are going to do better because of you. So you as if you're looking for an opportunity, I will tell you, you want to start from scratch, you can obsess you can definitely go into the world of marketing in these platforms. Hey, Facebook and Instagram, tik tok, Pinterest, YouTube advertising, all these platforms are right now so important for all businesses, that if you jumped on that opportunity, you become an expert at it, you're going to become a piece of gold in your society. And you can go and you can offer your services, you can say to somebody, look, I become really good at this. I'm not going to charge you a penny. I'm going to run marketing for two weeks for you. All I need to do is give me an advertising budget. And I'm going to bring you leads actual names, identities of people, if you like it, if you like what we do together, then I'll put you under contract, and it's going to be a monthly retainer. Alright. And I'm going to continue helping you what an easy way to get started. You don't have to invest on physical products. You don't have to invest on heavy training. It's all available out there. The social media education is actually incredible and incredibly accessible. Yes, there are paid trainings, I can tell you that I did not do any paid training. I do have my own program right now which I teach people other things like next level customer journey of engagement and other things. But generally all of it is accessible right now. There's a lot of information that you guys can access to travel and roadmap if you're looking for next level of engagement yourself.

Josh: (20:06)

Yeah, I love that. It's really interesting to see that you're in our world with it with the Coronavirus world going on, like you said it has accelerated, I would say just the average business is understanding of the importance of marketing and, and why they need to do it. And like you said, I mean, you can save so many people right now by being that that marketer. So I also agree, I think an agency is a great model if you're starting from scratch. So you no matter what you've been, you've been teasing this, this roadmap this entire time. And I want you to kind of dive into that and let us know where we can get access to that.

Manuel: (20:41)

Oh, absolutely. So if you're talking about our digital training, I have a there's two things that I do I have an agency in which I do services for people, we A lot of people don't qualify for them, it depends because it costs 1000s of dollars a month and we run your advertising and your social media marketing. You can go down a path, but you can build it yourself. We have a program called the AGM ninja lab. If you can, anybody can check it out an AGM Ninja lab.com. And it's a place in which people can come in and just get individual skills acquired. And you want to learn how to set up your social channels or you want to learn how to build a mini chat bot on messenger or you want to learn how to do Facebook ads or whatever the case may be that you're looking for. I have a personal obsession of helping a lot of people understand this this process. Other than that, that is a paid program. Affordable courses. Were actually just in the middle of revamping that and launching a new version in a few days. So if you guys, if you look at it right now, Josh is different than what is going to look like in two days. But we're rebranding the whole thing right now. But it's going to be a lot of individual skills that you can acquire. Monster the world of the internet and get yourself started on that particular path. So you can also take advantage in and be a part of this digital world evolution, which I think we're still got a lot of legs, it's just getting started, you have an Amazon brand. that opportunity is still growing, Amazon has 50% of every every dollar spent on the internet, Shopify channels, internet, e commerce. Wow. Something that was interesting about this Black Friday, traditionally, Amazon has about 50% of the overall sales on the United States, any given day. Friday week, 80% of the sales were on e commerce outside of Amazon. So there's also a massive transition of a lot of online shops, being able to generate massive amounts of revenue in this new world. And they're thinking a little bit of of the share that Amazon has held for for quite a while already. Also generating leads is such an important thing. You have all these people on social media that you can capture their identities or phone numbers or emails, get them subscribe to messenger, there's a lot of opportunities that any of you guys can dive into. Let's say that you are looking to scale your business past seven digits or bad six digits, there's a lot of opportunities, if you just capture more attention. Again, the name of the game is attention. If you have a product or a service assistant, that can help people solve their problems, you have a responsibility over these people. And you need to make sure that you do whatever you can put your content and your brand in front of these people. So you can get a chance to help them along the way. And that's how you scale a business. Of course, you're gonna have to have a lot of things. I mean, it does take to build an organization of people, there's a lot of people, right, George, that are the solopreneurs, they want to they want to work behind the screen. They don't want to handle a team. They don't want to work with anybody. They bring a one man show, and that's okay, too. There's opportunities for that, for those that want to scale in that direction. In my case, I am a people person, I am very, very into building relationships. And I build teams of people, my company, natural slim has 150 staff, my company Ag and marketing has 75 staff, and I always into building people, I love making people more skilled and creating loyalty and having them help me build the next level on the way so people that really want to scale. I would strongly advise building teams, because there's a lot of people out there opportunities. They want to be a part of something special, and maybe they're not great number ones or number twos, but they're going to be great assistance to the assistance, great virtual assistants, great marketers or whatever it is that they can help you with your big missions and goals overall.

Josh: (24:56)

Yeah, absolutely. And I think the scaling strategy for for mobile People that they need to employ is that you know, isn't isn't finding the right people building a team, you can't scale until you're willing to put the people in. I talked to a guy the other day, and he explained it this way. He's like, it's like going down a ski slope, you know, you have to increase the momentum in order to, to go back uphill. And, and the problem is, most people aren't willing to take that investment and hire the people and everything so that they can increase You know, it hockey sticks when you do bring in the right team. So, you know, man, well, you you've given us a lot of really amazing action steps. I hope everybody has taken notes on this episode, saying, hey, these are some action steps that I could take today. So you can check out his website. So it's at AGM Ninja lab.com. Make sure you go check that out. And well, before we sign off, if you were one of our listeners, and you were hoping just one thing would come out of this interview, what would you hope that they would take away from it?

Manuel: (25:56)

Roadmap, did they really get that there's a path to succeed. And and the difference between success and failure is the lack of knowledge and information that's going to help them take that next step. Many times that information is not applicable or is unworkable. But you got to get the next piece of information and make yourself better and look at the ones that are out there doing it right. And they're the ones that really want to help you and get support and get help get people that can guide you towards the next step that have done and ready instead of you having to reinvent the wheel or having to make up your own path that has not been proven yet. roadmap, find a roadmap, find a strategy, take advantage of the opportunities, we're just getting started. 2021 is going to be a great world, a great era for the Internet, and for the marketers and they want to take your business take their business to the next level in this in this new internet world that we're going through right now.
